Description

A Swastika is destroyed by the hammer and anvil of Allied nations. Jean Carlu did this when he was in the United States after having been ex-patriated here after doing 1939 World’s Fair graphics before the Nazi occupation of France. The poster is bright with folds and small breaks and was given by Carlu to an assistant, Stan Harris. A copy of a letter attesting to Harris’s apprenticeship under Carlu is enclosed with the poster. This is a very interesting relic with a strong artist and wartime association. (Art Deco /French) Unique.
