Description
Bookseller’s poster for “The Thought Reading Machine”. Maurois was among the most celebrated writers in France in the 20th Century, often delving into Futurist fantasy. This work centers at a Kansas City college – Maurois was quite the Ameriphile – where a student invents a computer which reveals everyone’s secret thoughts and delightful international reprocussions ensue. Maurois created many excellent quotations, a personal favorite of which is, “Lost illusion is the undisclosed title of every novel”.
