Description

The Katzenjammer Kids were among the earliest of comics, originating in 1897 in William Randolf Hearst’s New York Journal. 16 years later, in 1913, it became a successful musical comedy. The cartoon and doubtless the comedy made great fun of German-to-English transliterations. In this case, mom and dad are looking at smiling Hand and Fritz, with mom calling them “Der Little Sveet-Hears” and with dad calling them “Der Little Stiffs”. The poster was done apparently by letter press with deep process colors. (Comedy /Broadway /New York /Immigration /Cartoon /Humor /Language)  The condition is overall near mint.
