These are from an exceptionally rare run of lithographed advertising cards for New York City subway cars, with portraits and artist bio’s on the reverse. No American institution seems to have the full set. Present are 17 of the original 24. The highlights among them are 2 Paul Rand, 1 Lucien Bernhard, 1 Herbert Bayer, 1 E.M. Kauffer, 1 Erik Nitsche, 1 Joseph Binder, and 2 Otis Shepard. These are the most prominent names out of the full collection. A true museum-like representation of 20th Century Modernism in postwar America. All cards are mint.
