Description

An eagle trying to salvage the royal Hungarian crest is downed by an arrow. Following the first World War, Romania had acquired new lands and was trying to assimilate parts of Hungary into Romanian culture. Budapest was the center of resistance to these Romanian integration efforts. Edge tear lower right and some damp staining.
