Printed by Chachoin, Paris for a bestselling French novel entitled “PROCHAINEMENT DANS L’HUMANITÉ / LIRE LE TUNNEL”, a story about a fantasized tunnel going from France to the United States. The tender and sensitive image is of a young boy and his horse, the young boy trying to make his decision whether to take the trip. Before letters proofs were common before and after the turn of the century for collectors who were not interested in all of the typographic which would be included. This one is among the last of Steinlen’s works, and is very uncommon. Close tears at edges. Unobtrusive horizontal folds. Presents very well. On linen.
