Description

This appears to be a prewar A.M. Cassandre display with the early face of the Dubonnet man clearly prominent. The item is made of painted wood and is silkscreened with a “Dubonnet canopy” and the character seated with a round 3D wooden table. All of this is on a study wooden base. This is quite a design, very intensely silkscreened and shows the original Dubonnet man with the American pre-Rand change showing the Dubonnet man with a drink as opposed to emptying a bottle. How many of these prewar designs could have possibly survived? (Art Deco /Modernism /Drinking /Aperitif /Prewar Design /Spirits /Tobacco) In overall near mint condition with some aging on the top of the canopy, otherwise there is very little or no chipping and everything is still quite bright. This is an excellent price!
