Description

A documentary dedicated to the man who literally saved French film by hiding it in bathtubs and in closets all throughout Paris through Nazi occupation when the army was looking for the nitrocellulose stock to grind up for artillery powder. Langois was quite the character. He was put in charge of an official French government run movie theater and I was lucky to tag along to one of his dinners which took place after the last showing. Langois fought with his girlfriend to get to the money till grabbing all the bills to pay for everyone’s dinner. Langois was, along with his girlfriend, quite the gourmand. (Cinema /Rescue /History /Paris /France) Rolled. Near mint.
