An outrageously fantastic image of the actress lying atop this bizarre combination of leaves, flowers, and a manticore or griffin-like monster, the wings of which are made to look like she is spreading her own wings in angelic seminude sleep. Very race-y for the turn of the century. An extraordinary illustration. Pin up /Reptiles /Monsters /Seminude /Victorianism Shows some evidence of spot restoration mostly in the blue background. Still in all an absolutely magnificent illustration. I’ve never seen another.
