Description
A dramatic image done on the stone by the artist and printed in his lithographic shop. The scene is of a tommy with his rifle and with citizens huddling near him and refugees at the edge and bottom. This was designed to be used as a relief poster with a white section added at the bottom. This is no doubt a proof from Brangwyn’s shop and is certainly very rare. Some evidence of past folds. Otherwise, overall very fine or better and clean. Glare in photo at right edge.
