This splendid stylized Belle Epoche panoramic lithograph doubtless shows many of the famous and infamous personalities in horse racing in France around the turn of the Century. Biais was as famous as any decorative artist living around 1900. His greatest obsession was the famous cabaret singer Jane Avril, whom he discreetly envisioned in many of his works, and whom he stole away from Toulouse-Lautrec. She is shown in her famous silhouette in the center of the image. (Art Nouveau/ Equestrian/ Animals) Tiny edge restoration or two, but overall very clean and fresh, mounted on linen. wass 650 and is shown here watching the warm-up from the rail. Mint, barring some very light border crumples.
