Description

H. Berger was a popular German illustrator during the Belle Epoch, known best for his risque caricatures of show girls. I suspect Bernhardt’s selection of such an artist to produce one of her tour souvenir prints would have been considered very provocative at the turn of the 20th Century. Signed in pencil by the artist at the lower right edge. (Theater/ Art Nouveau/ Fashion/ Avant Garde/ Diva) Mint and very fresh overall barring a small amount of minor edge crumpling at wide lower left border.
