Description
J. Bufford’s Litho Co., Boston. Homer’s first job as an artist was when he was a teenager and his father secured a job for him with Boston’s most esteemed sheet music lithographers. Though the job lasted only months, Homer produced at least six lithographs for the firm, including this ode to a lovelorn teenager. A rare work marking the beginning of the career of one of America’s most celebrated artists. Minor spine chipping, ex-folio, minor foxing, quite fresh, bold.
