Black American Collection
We are now in the process of cataloging an exceptional collection of several hundred scarce Black History items to be offered later this year. The items,date from the 1840s through the 1960s. This is not an accumulation of disparaging “Black Mammy” kitsch, but a carefully put together archive of printed ephemera and posters from the fields of politics, entertainment, and civil rights history. Included are unusual film posters, posters and ephemera from reconstruction to the Black Panthers, original 1963 civil rights march placards, extraordinary and rare sheet music, including rare Scott Joplin, and a large number of other truly select items. It will be offered as a collection. Inquire if of interest.
